Discover Silvin’s Manivelle N°55
Manivelle N°55 is the personal bike of Silvin, co-founder of Manivelle. Created especially for Bespoked, Europe’s biggest event for hand-crafted bicycles, which took place in Dresden in October, this project is special in many ways. First and foremost, its design: conceived as a 26″ bmx, with low trail geometry up front to facilitate handling once the basket is loaded, and this “half truss” fork with integrated pack carrier that has been the talk of the town (this bike was named “favourite bike of the show” by bikepacking.com ). For this project, we teamed up with Hope Technology, after meeting Laurent Le Corre, Director of Hope France. When there’s a connection between two people, things naturally get moving. Many thanks to Hope for this partnership, which has enabled us to push the detail, color matching and ride quality of the bike to the limit. Thanks also to SON Nabendynamo, especially Britta and Wilfried, for the dynamo equipment. For the more geeky among you, you’ll note the neo-retro set-up that combines a 30mm axle crankset and a Deore LX 7-speed derailleur, powered by an old Sturmey Archey 3-speed shifter, modified to work by friction.
