In 2021, we launched our first bag to go with our basket, Le Cabas. So it was with three years of user feedback in mind that we developed V2 of this bag! Lighter, with a slimmer and a more assertive design, we’re delighted to present its new look. The Cabas is a bag custom-made to the dimensions of our basket and the basket without hardware.

This is the idea behind the evolution of the Cabas: to retain the generous capacity of the V1, while making it lighter and adding the possibility of making it very small by simply folding it. The Cabas slips into your backpack or the bottom of your Manivelle basket, ready to be deployed when you’re on a spree at the market or thrift store. Highly compatible with picnics and swimming.
Worn on the shoulder or by hand, Le Cabas is designed for a flamboyant dressing room, ready to be paired with either a minimal outfit to give it its vivacity, or a colorful ensemble. Its design follows the evolution of the brand and our textile range: more colors, two-color combinatin, and the association of new upcycled textiles.
Its main volume is made of a new textile from our partnership with Steelcase: a light, breathable and highly resistant technical material. This volume closes with a drawstring to quickly adjust the size of the bag. Two pairs of handles are sewn onto this main volume: one pair in the same technical fabric, with a good length for carrying the bag over the shoulder, and a second pair in tarpaulin, for carrying the bag by hand. The bottom of the bag is made up of colored pattern of truck tarpaulin, to create the bag’s structure and reinforce its durability in the most exposed areas.
Last but not least, side pockets, always handy when you need to switch from a tote bag to a bit of organization, are revealed between the soft main volume and the tarpaulin.
Imagined and prototyped in the Manivelle workshop, Le Cabas is handmade in small series in Strasbourg, by the superb Libre Objet team, from recycled truck tarpaulins and textiles from dormant stocks.
